This beautiful beach is in the municipality of Guía de Isora, in the south of Tenerife. It is a little corner of paradise that you reach on foot from the hotel of the same name, where you can leave your car in the free car park (part of the route is a rather steep flight of steps; if you prefer, you can drive down to drop off family or friends, but you then have to drive straight back up, as parking is not possible).
Please note that Playa Abama does not belong exclusively to the hotel: it is a public beach, open to all visitors. It has the main facilities: sun loungers, parasols, showers and toilets. You can have lunch at a charming restaurant on site or, if you’d rather not spend too much, bring a packed lunch.
This small beach has golden sand, and nearby there are natural ocean pools where you can take a dip and relax completely. It is sheltered from the wind, and the sea is calm thanks to artificial barriers built to hold back the waves.
With its blue water, it is one of the most beautiful beaches on the whole island and well worth a visit. We recommend letting yourself be enchanted by the magical atmosphere at sunset, with the island of La Gomera on the horizon.
