Parque del Drago is in the town of Icod de los Vinos in Tenerife. It covers 3 hectares and, as well as the famous Drago Milenario, it is home to many species of Canarian flora: dragon trees, cacti, tabaibas, fayas, palms and heather.
Parque del Drago was designed between 1997 and 2000 by lecturers from the University of La Laguna. Divided into several zones, it was conceived to help visitors learn to recognise the local vegetation.
Inside the park there is also a small volcanic cave where a Guanche mummy was buried.
The park is divided in two by the Caforiño ravine, known in ancient times as the “Ycod River”, and two beautiful bridges have been built to cross it.
There is also a picnic area in the park.
