Auditorio de Tenerife

The white, wave-shaped roof of the Auditorio de Tenerife in Santa Cruz, with palms and streetlights

The Auditorio de Tenerife is a spectacular piece of architecture shaped like a cobra’s head, designed by the brilliant architect Santiago Calatrava. It stands on Avenida de la Constitución, between the Parque Marítimo and the port. This remarkable building is the architectural symbol of Santa Cruz and is considered the most modern building in the Canary Islands. It was built between 1997 and 2003, the year it was inaugurated.

The building stands on a 23,000 m² site (6,471 m² of it occupied by the building itself), and its distinctive shape was designed to create a unique, immersive and extraordinary acoustic experience for the listener. The main Symphony Hall, with its spectacular dome and amphitheatre layout, seats around 1,600 people and has a stage 16.5 m wide and 14 m deep. The Chamber Hall, with 422 seats, is a miniature version of the Symphony Hall. There are also many smaller rooms for lesser performances and meetings. The building also has a car park with around 250 spaces.

The Auditorio offers a full programme with a wide range of performances, mainly musical, which you can check directly on the official website www.auditoriodetenerife.com
