Playa San Juan

The bay at Playa San Juan: breakwater, small harbour, palms and La Gomera on the horizon

This beach is in the municipality of Guía de Isora, in the fishing village of San Juan on the south-west coast of Tenerife. There is a convenient free car park just a few metres away, and the area can also be reached by public transport.

It is one of the local beaches to have been awarded the Blue Flag (the water is tested regularly to protect bathers). It has all the main facilities: sun lounger and parasol hire, showers, toilets, disabled access, a public telephone and lifeguards. You can also enjoy water sports, sport fishing and diving.

It attracts a steady flow of holidaymakers all year round, mainly families and older people, drawn by the peaceful setting and by the artificial barriers that keep the ocean particularly calm.

The area is very popular because it is sheltered from the wind and enjoys a pleasant climate in every season.

On the seafront there is a kiosk bar, and a few restaurants close by serve traditional Canarian dishes.

A beautiful cobbled path starts right from the beach and winds along the coast, making for a pleasant, relaxing walk with enchanting views of the surroundings. We especially recommend it at sunset, to enjoy the magical atmosphere as the sun goes down, with the island of La Gomera in the background.

The beach is perfect for anyone who loves peace and quiet and wants to spend pleasant, relaxing days away from crowded, hectic places.
