Los Gigantes

Los Gigantes is a small resort of around 3,000 inhabitants on the west coast of Tenerife, in the municipality of Santiago del Teide. The town has a marina enclosed by concrete walls to keep out the ocean waves, as the sea is particularly rough in this area. There has been significant residential development here, and you’ll notice numerous housing complexes spreading up the hillsides. Nearby is Playa de la Arena, a typical Canarian black-sand beach.

The little town is very welcoming, with plenty of shops and traditional restaurants to meet holidaymakers’ needs. From the pretty little harbour, local tour operators run boat trips to the main places of interest nearby: to the small beach that opens onto the Barranco de Masca, a tour of the neighbouring island of La Gomera and many other outings on the ocean to discover the beauty of the stunning surrounding landscape.

Los Gigantes is famous for its giant cliffs (Acantilados de los Gigantes), which tower majestically over the ocean. To fully enjoy the spectacle of these majestic rock walls, it’s a good idea to book a boat trip so you can admire and photograph the amazing sight of this natural wonder.
