Costa del Silencio

Residential complexes of Costa del Silencio from the hill, with the sea and volcanic cones beyond

Costa del Silencio is a resort at the southern tip of Tenerife, right next to Las Galletas. It is a very quiet area (hence its name), ideal if you’re looking for a holiday of sunshine and relaxation. It is about 15 km from both Tenerife South airport and the livelier resorts of Los Cristianos and Las Américas.

Here you can stroll along the wonderful little coves of the coastline, edged with rocks that form unusual geometric patterns, or pop over to the nearby beach at Las Galletas. Rising above Costa del Silencio is Montaña Amarilla, a distinctive yellow mountain criss-crossed by several trails, both inland and along the clifftops above the sea. On the way down from Montaña Amarilla you can admire some very unusual coves on the ocean, often frequented by naturists.

The area is ideal for scuba-diving enthusiasts. For information, contact the nearby Coral Sub diving school (Escuela de Submarinismo Coral Sub), Las Galletas – Calle Rambla – Tel. 34 922 73 09 81.

The resort has plenty of accommodation, including aparthotels with swimming pools and all the main tourist services. Several bars and restaurants cater for residents and holidaymakers alike. For families holidaying here with children, these are the theme parks nearby:
